held for that purpose, or at any general election, in accordance
with the provisions of existing law governing the conduct of
special and general elections in Baltimore County. Before
submitting the authority hereby conferred, or any part
thereof, to any such referendum, the County shall adopt a
resolution calling upon the Supervisors of Elections of Balti-
more County to conduct any such special election, or to
place the question referred on the ballot to be used at a
general election, as the case may be, and further providing,
in addition to all other notice of any such special or general
election otherwise required by law, for not less than four (4)
weeks' public notice of any such referendum, such notice to be
given by posting a certified copy of said resolution on the
Court House door in Towson, Maryland, and by publishing a
full and complete notice of such referendum once a week for
four (4) consecutive weeks next preceding the date of the
election at which such referendum will be held in two or
more newspapers published and having a circulation in Balti-
more County. Said resolution shall also contain a precise
statement of the question to be referred, which question shall
contain a reference to this Act by its Chapter number and a
statement, in dollars, of the extent to which the County pro-
poses to exercise the borrowing authority hereby conferred.
Following the passage of such resolution, the Supervisors
of Elections of Baltimore County shall cause to be printed
on official ballots the question referred, as prescribed in said
resolution, and underneath said question the words "For
$............ School Bond Issue", followed by a square or

box, and on a separate line, underneath the first such line,
the words "Against $.......... School Bond Issue", likewise

followed by a square or box, so that each voter will be able
to designate by a cross-mark, in the proper square or box, his
or her ballot for or against the exercise of the power hereby
conferred on the County to the extent referred. If a majority
of the votes cast in any such special or general election on
said question referred shall be in the affirmative, then the
County shall have the power to exercise the powers hereby
conferred, to the extent so approved. If a majority of the
votes cast in any such general or special election shall be in
the negative, then said County shall not exercise the power
for which approval was requested.

Every such referendum shall be conducted in all respects
in accordance with the public general and public local laws
of Maryland governing the holding of general or special elec-
tions in Baltimore County, at the time of the holding of any
such referendum, but the disapproval of the majority of the
qualified voters of the County voting on any one such referen-
dum shall not preclude the County from re-submitting at one
