716GG. On and after June 1 1951, in all cases instituted
in the People's Court of Baltimore City where the amount
in controversy exceeds the sum of f 100. 00, there shall be paid
at the time of filing suit to the Chief Constable of the
People's Court, for the use of the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore City, in addition to the fees and costs pre-
scribed by Section 716G of this sub-title, the sum of fifty
cents for each additional One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00)
or fraction thereof in controversy.

(1) No person shall practice the profession or perform
the services of an attorney at law within this State without
being admitted to the bar as hereinafter directed; and any
person who shall give legal advice, represent any person in
the trial of any case at law or in equity including the trial
of any case before the People's Court of Baltimore City where
the amount involved exceeds the sum of $100. 00 except cases
arising under Sections 750 to 755%, inclusive, of the Charter
and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1938 Edition), or
prepare any written instrument affecting the title to real
estate, for pay or reward, shall be deemed an attorney at law
for purposes of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 569
(House Bill 486)

AN ACT to repeal Section 533 of Article 43 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Health",
sub-title "Physical Therapy", and to enact in lieu thereof
a new section, to be know as Section 533, and to follow
immediately after Section 532 of said Article, relating to
the appointment, term of office and compensation of the
Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Section 538 of said Article and
sub-title, to require the payment of an annual fee for re-
newal of licenses to practice physical therapy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted "by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 533 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Health", sub-title
