Baltimore City the said surplus ballots shall be delivered
by the Supervisors of Elections to the Police Commissioner,
and they shall be retained in his charge or that of an officer
designated by him who shall supply them to any judge of
election for use on election day as above provided.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
613 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1947 Edition,
being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Zoning", relating to the appointment of a Board of
Zoning Appeals, its powers and duties and the granting
of building permits within the Airport Zoning Districts
of the Friendship International Airport.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 613 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1947
Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Zoning", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
613. (a) The County Commissioners shall provide for
a Board of Zoning Appeals consisting of three members.
The members of the Board of Zoning Appeals shall be
residents and taxpayers of Anne Arundel County, and
shall be appointed by the Governor from a list of three
names to be submitted to him by the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County for each member. The
initial Board of Zoning Appeals shall consist of R. Thorn-
ton Strange to serve for a term of two years, Marvin I.
Anderson to serve for a term of four years and Charles
M. Lake to serve for a term of six years, all from June 1,
1949. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of six
years each and may be removed for cause by the Governor
after written charges are filed and a public hearing thereon
is held. The Attorney to the County Commissioners shall
serve as Attorney to the Board of Zoning Appeals. The
