sections prohibit amusements, entertainments or games in
Ocean City on Sunday.
SEC, 2, And be it further enacted, That if any provision,
clause, sentence, phrase or part of this Act or the applica-
tion thereof to any person, firm or corporation or circum-
stance, is held invalid, the remainder of this Act and the
application of such provisions to other persons, firms and
corporations and circumstances shall not be affected
thereby.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted as aforesaid, That
this Act is hereby declared to be an emergency law and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and being passed upon a yea and nay
vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 788.
(Senate Bill 351)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
637 of Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punishment, " sub-title
"Jurisdiction, Procedure and Sentence"; providing that
any person charged with a misdemeanor or felony may
file a petition in Court and the Court shall then require
the State's Attorney to file Information, after which
the case shall be tried before the Court sitting as a jury
or the petit jury, without indictment by a grand jury;
and providing that the provisions of this Act shall not
apply to Baltimore City or Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 637 of Article 27 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punish-
ment, " sub-title "Jurisdiction, Procedure and Sentence, "
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
637. Whenever in any County of the State any person
is charged with the commission of a misdemeanor or felony,
such accused person, before indictment by the grand jury,
