in the office of the County Commissioners shall be open to
inspection by any taxpayer of the county.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 661.
(House Bill 382)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 93 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Testamentary Law",
sub-title "Register of Wills", said new section to be known
as Section 288A and to follow immediately after Section 288
of said Article, authorizing and directing the Comptroller to
approve the inclusion of expenditures by the Registers of
Wills for additional compensation to clerks employed in
their offices.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Testamentary Law", sub-title "Register of Wills", said new
section to be known as Section 288A, to follow immediately
after Section 288 of said Article, and to read as follows:

288A. The Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to
approve the inclusion in the annual returns, herein required
of expenditures by Registers of Wills representing payment of
additional compensation to clerks employed in these offices of
fifteen per centum (15%) of the regular compensation author-
ized for such clerks, provided this authority for additional
compensation shall be limited to those clerks whose regular
compensation does not exceed Three Thousand Eight Hun-
dred Dollars ($3, 800. 00) per annum; the said payment of
additional compensation to become effective July 1, 1945, and
to be added to the regular compensation at the times of pay-
ment of such regular compensation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
