CHAPTER 90.
(Senate Bill 116)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
27 A of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles, " sub-title
"Administration — Registration — Titling, " eliminating
Talbot County from the list of counties in which the
County Commissioners are authorized to decide whether
the County Treasurer should act as agent of the Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles in the registration of certain
motor vehicles and the issuance of metal plates or mark-
ers, thereby making it the duty of the County Treasurer
of Talbot County to act as agent of the Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles and to issue metal plates or markers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 27A of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles, "
sub-title "Administration—Registration—Titling, " be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

27A. The County Treasurer of each county in this State,
shall act as the agent of the Commissioner of Motor Ve-
hicles in the registration of motor vehicles of the Class A
passenger or pleasure type and the issuance of metal plates
or markers, as provided in Section 27 of this Article, in like
manner as if application had been made at the office of the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. Each County Treasurer
shall remit to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles at the
close of each week all fees collected by him for the regis-
tration of motor vehicles, together with a complete record
of such registration made by him during each day, except
the fifteen cent fee paid to him by the applicant for his
services in issuing the certificates of registration and
metal plates or markers. Each applicant for registration
of a motor vehicle shall, in addition to the registration or
