760A. The Board of Correction may, whenever it deems it
advisable to do so, transfer to said Reformatory from other
penal institutions, male offenders of any age, and it shall have
the power to transfer from said Reformatory to other institu-
tions under its control male offenders sentenced to said Re-
formatory and found by said Board to be incorrigible and un-
manageable, and who may be more safely cared for or trained
in other institutions.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any part, section,
paragraph, clause, sentence or provision of this Act, or any
application thereof is held invalid for any reason, the re-
mainder of this Act and other applications thereof shall not
be affected thereby, and to this end the provisions of this Act
are declared to be severable.,
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency,
. SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 761A, 761B, 761C, 761D, 761E
and 761F of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-
title "Department of Correction", and to enact in lieu
thereof five new sections to be known as Sections 761 A,
761B, 761C, 761D, and 761E of said Article, to follow
immediately after Section 761 of said Article, changing the
name of the Women's Prison of the State of Maryland to
"Maryland State Reformatory for Women", providing that
said reformatory shall be the place of confinement for all
female offenders who may be sentenced to imprisonment in
any institution other than a jail, and authorizing the courts
to sentence such female offenders to said Reformatory for
indeterminate periods of time not to exceed the maximum
term of imprisonment provided by law; directing Justices
of the Peace to sentence all female offenders to said institu-
tion for indeterminate periods of time, other than such
offenders who may be sentenced to imprisonment in a jail;;
