SEC. 2A. And be it further enacted, That Section 880 of
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and
Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore
City", sub-title "Police Commissioner", be and it is - hereby
repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1946.

CHAPTER 515.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
(d) of Section 144 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title "Tax on Franchise to be a Corporation", relating to
the franchise tax on domestic building or homestead associa-
tions and credit unions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (d) of Section 144 of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Reve-
nue and Taxes", sub-title "Tax on Franchise to be a Corpora-
tion", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

144. (d) Every domestic building or homestead association
and credit union shall pay annually for the use of the State, in
addition to any other tax imposed by law, a tax of f 10 for its
franchise to be a corporation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
