520 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 513

Commissioner", and to repeal Section 897 of said Article,
and to enact a new section in lieu thereof, said new section
to be known as Section 876, prescribing the salary and
compensation of the officers and employees of the Police
Department of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 876 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition )y
title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commissioner7', be
and it is hereby repealed and that a new section be and it is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, said new section to be known
as Section 876, and to read as follows:

876. The officers and employees of the Police Department
of Baltimore City shall be paid compensation or salaries as
hereinafter set forth:

Police Commissioner, ten thousand dollars ($10, 000) per
annum;

Secretary to Police Commissioner, five thousand eight hun-
dred dollars ($5, 800. 00) per annum;

Assistant Secretary to Police Commissioner, four thousand
dollars ($4, 000. 00) per annum;

Assistants to Secretary, three thousand two hundred and
fifty dollars ($3, 250. 00) each per annum;

Chief Physician, two thousand five hundred dollars
($2, 500. 00) per annum;

Other physicians, two thousand three hundred dollars
($2, 300. 00) each per annum;

Chief Inspector, six thousand three hundred dollars
($6, 300. 00) per annum;

Other Inspectors, five thousand eight hundred dollars
($5, 800. 00) each per annum;

Secretary to Chief Inspector, four thousand dollars
($4, 000. 00) per annum;

Captain of Detectives, five thousand two hundred and seventy-
eight dollars ($5, 278. 00) per annum;

District Captains, ninety-one dollars ($91. 00) each per
week;

Lieutenant, Radio Division, ninety-one dollars ($91. 00) per
week;

Lieutenant, Bureau of Identification, seventy-seven dollars
($77. 00) per week;

Other Lieutenants and Lieutenant-Detectives, seventy-one
dollars and fifty cents ($71. 50) each per week;

Second Lieutenants, sixty-seven dollars ($67. 00) 'each per
week;

Detective-Sergeants, sixty-two dollars ($62. 00) each per
week;
