ment of Motor Vehicles.

251. (Maximum Carrying Capacity of Solid Tire Motor
Vehicle. ) Except in the case of motor vehicles now owned
and heretofore registered in this State, no certificate shall
be granted for the registration of any motor vehicle equipped
with solid tires and equipped with four wheels, having a
rated carrying capacity of over five tons, nor of any such
motor vehicle, equipped with six wheels, having a rated
carrying capacity of over ten tons, and except as aforesaid,
no such motor vehicle, equipped with four wheels, having a
greater rated carrying capacity than five tons, and no such
motor vehicle, equipped with six wheels, having a greater
rated carrying capacity than ten tons shall be operated over
any public highway of this State.

252. (Weights of Vehicles and Loads — Pneumatic Tires;
Maximum Axle Loan Per Inch Width of Tires. ) No motor
vehicle or physically connected combination of motor ve-
hicles, mounted on pneumatic tires, shall have an axle load
in excess of six hundred (600) pounds per inch of the aggre-
gate width of its tires (measured at the point of greatest
width of each tire) or more than twenty-two thousand four
hundred (22, 400) pounds in any event.

258. (Parties To a Crime. ) Every person who commits, at-
tempts to commit, conspires to commit, or aids or abets
in the commission of, any act declared herein to be a crime,
whether individually or in connection with one or more other
persons or as principal, agent, or accessory, shall be guilty
of such offense, and every person who falsely, fraudulently,
forcibly, or wilfully induces, causes, coerces, requires, permits,
or directs another to violate any provision of this Article is
likewise guilty of such offense.

261. (Person Arrested Has Right to Demand Summons in
Following Cases. ) Provided, however, that if any person ar-
rested for the violation of any of the provisions of this Article
or of any public local law or of any municipal ordinance or
Police regulation of Baltimore City, or of any incorporated
town or city in Maryland regulating traffic, is a resident of
the State of Maryland, a resident of a county or the City of
Baltimore, other than that in which the arrest is made, or is
a resident of the County or the City of Baltimore in which
the arrest is made, such person shall have the right to demand
and receive and it shall be the duty of the officer or officers
arresting such person to inform him of his right to make
such demand and to comply with such demand if made, a
