the fire district area in which the County Commissioners
of Montgomery County are authorized to levy a tax to
enable the Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.,
of Montgomery County, to acquire land, build a Fire
House and to equip the same, and to borrow money for
such purposes, and creating a Fire Board.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Chapter 570 of the Laws of Maryland, Session of
1943, relating to the Hillandale Fire Department, Inc., of
Montgomery County, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
The Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., of Mont-
gomery County be, and it is hereby authorized to borrow
money from time to time for the purpose of purchasing
land and erecting thereon a fire department building to
house the fire department equipment of said fire depart-
ment and to purchase additional equipment from time to
time as may be needed, and to mortgage and pledge all or
part of any property for money owed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board
of County Commissioners for Montgomery County are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to levy annu-
ally against all of the assessable real and personal property
within certain parts of Montgomery County, par-
ticularly designated and described and lying and
being in the bounds, courses and distances as fol-
lows, to wit: Beginning at the intersection of the mid-
point of the Northwest Branch and the Prince George's
County line; thence following the center line of Northwest
Branch in a northwesterly direction to a point where the
Northwest Branch is crossed by a public road known as
the Glenmont-Colesville Road; then easterly and north-
easterly along the center line of said road through Coles-
ville; thence easterly along the center line of the same road
through Fairland; thence continuing southeasterly and
easterly along the center line of the same road to the point
where said road is intersected by the Prince George's
County line; thence southwesterly with said Prince
George's County line to the point of beginning; a tax suffi-
cient, but not to exceed ten (10) cents on each One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100) of real and personal property, to pay
all or any part of the requirements of expenditures to
purchase and build a fire department building and opera-
tion of the said fire department now known as the Hillan-
dale Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., of Montgomery
County, and to purchase equipment from time to time for
