the provision in Sub-section (j) relating to Section 9 which
is no longer applicable.
WHEREAS, Section 9 of Article 88B relates to former em-
ployees of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles which have
already been taken into the State Police System and is no
longer applicable, therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (j) of Section 2 of Article 88B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),. title "State
Police", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
2. (j) For the purpose of promotion, and elevation in rank,
before or after enrollment, as set forth in Paragraphs 9 and
11 of this Article, sergeant major, first sergeant, detective
sergeants, quartermaster sergeant, sergeant mechanic, and ser-
geants, shall be of the same rank, and that rank shall be that
of sergeant, and all shall be eligible to take the examination
for the rank of lieutenant as set forth in paragraph 11 of this
Article.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
36 of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish",
sub-title "Field Trials", to correct an error in said section.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 36 of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Birds, Game and Inland
Water Fish", sub-title "Field Trials", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
36. (Penalties. ) Any person convicted before any Justice
of the Peace of this State, or Court of Justice, for violating
any of the provisions of Sections 21 to 35, inclusive, un-
