"Washington County, " sub-title "Election Districts, " said
section relating to the appointment of justices of the
peace and constables in a certain election district in
Washington County.
WHEREAS, the State law relating to the appointment of
justices of the peace and constables superseded the pro-
visions of this section; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 176 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County, " sub-title "Election Districts, " be and it is hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
227 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County, "
sub-title "Hagerstown, " as enacted by Chapter 45 of
the Acts of 1933, Special Session, and to repeal Section
227A of said Article 22, as enacted by Chapter 144 of
the Acts of 1941, providing for the acquisition and dis-
posal of property by the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town for municipal purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That Section 227 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County, " sub-title "Hagerstown, " as enacted by Chapter 45
of the Acts of 1933, Special Session, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as
follows
227. The inhabitants of Hagerstown, in Washington
County, are created a corporation by the name of "The
Mayor and Council of Hagerstown, " and by that name shall
have perpetual succession; may sue and be sued; may have
and use a common seal, and possess such other incidents
