projects, authorizing the Board of Public Works to formu-
late and execute said program and authorizing said Board to
approve expenditures in connection with the execution of
said program.

WHEREAS, the General Assembly in 1943, by Chapter 981,
provided for the creation of a Commission on Post-War Re-
construction and Development, which Commission was duly
organized and has been functioning since its organization and
the said Commission, between the time of its organization
and the present time, has received and considered applications
for approval of construction projects for the several State In-
stitutions and Agencies which are necessary for carrying out
the functions of such Institutions and Agencies, and the said
Commission has made reports to the Board of Public Works
as required by said Act of 1943, and the Board of Public
Works has duly considered and approved the projects which,
in its judgment, are necessary in providing proper facilities
for the functioning of Institutions and Agencies where the
construction projects are to be located as hereinafter detailed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized
and directed to formulate a program of construction to give
effect to the recommendations made to the said Board by the
Commission on Post-War Reconstruction and Development
and to include such other construction projects as, in the judg-
ment of the Board of Public Works, are necessary and desir-
able in the functioning of the Government of the State; the
authority given herein to be effective when in the discretion
of the Board of Public Works it is proper to proceed with
carrying out the within program.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board of Public
Works is specifically directed to consider and approve con-
struction projects for the following State Agencies and Insti-
tutions, to acquire sites, and to approve contracts for such
construction so that the purposes for which the Commission
on Post-War Reconstruction and Development was created
will be duly accomplished;

(1) Crownsville State Hospital for additions to and exten-
sion of utilities and equipment; quarters for staff and em-
ployees; dormitory for senile patients; two (2) dormitories for
feeble-minded; three (3) dormitories for epileptic and psy-
chotic children; necessary equipment for new buildings.

(2) Eastern Shore State Hospital for additions to and ex-
tension of utilities and equipment; two (2) farm buildings;
quarters for staff and employees; necessary equipment for
new buildings.
