HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 1913

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the bonds or notes
authorized to be issued by this Act shall be sold in the manner
prescribed by Section 35 of Article 31 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition).

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act is declared
to be an emergency law and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and being passed
by yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assem-
bly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 1081.
(House Bill 884)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 463
of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title
"Sheriff", relating to the salary and expense allowance of
the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County, and fees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 463 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel Coun-
ty", sub-title "Sheriff", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments to read as follows:

463. The Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall receive an
annual salary of three thousand dollars, to be paid to him in
monthly installments of two hundred and fifty dollars by the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, and he shall
be allowed sums, not exceeding in the aggregate fifty-three
hundred dollars for any one year, for all expenses of his
office, including clerical assistance, and necessary deputies
to assist him in the discharge of his duties, but not includ-
ing his expenses for telephones and stationery which shall
be provided for him by the County Commissioners, the said
account for office expenses and deputies to be paid monthly
by the County Commissioners of said county, but only upon
the presentation to them by the Sheriff of a full and complete
statement, under oath, setting forth all of the items of said
expense accounts for the month in. question, including the
names of all deputies and the amount allowed to each, and
