held invalid, the remainder of this sub-title and the application
of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall not
be affected thereby. If any provision, clause, sentence or sec-
tion of this sub-title shall be declared to be invalid or in viola-
tion of any provision of the State or Federal Constitution, the
remainder of this sub-title shall stand and be effective notwith-
standing.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 211.
(Senate Bill 122)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commission-
ers of Carroll County to levy a sum of money for a
five-year period for the Historical Society of Carroll
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Carroll County be and
they are hereby authorized and directed to levy the sum
of two hundred dollars ($200. 00) each year for a period of
five years, beginning with the year 1946, the said two hun-
dred dollars ($200. 00) to be paid to the Historical Society
of Carroll County, Maryland, Inc.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
10 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, 1930 Edition), title "Worcester County, " sub-
