the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and/or to the Depart-
ment prior to the beginning of the fiscal year ending in 1944
and to the Department thereafter shall be taken into account.
(e) Every police employee retired on pension under the pro-
visions of this Article shall be paid a pension determined by
using the base pay, set forth in this section, exclusive of the
longevity pay herein provided for, and all contributions made
by such police employee to the pension fund of said Depart-
ment shall be made from said base pay, exclusive of said
longevity pay.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

CHAPTER 1007.
(House Bill 302)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1034 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition), title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "Sheriff's Fees", providing ad-
ditional payments to the Sheriff of Baltimore City for Collec-
tion of fines.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 1034 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Sheriff's Fees", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

1034. The Sheriff of Baltimore City shall hereafter receive
for the services hereinafter recited, fees, as follows:

For serving an attachment of contempt and return, one
dollar and fifty cents.

For an arrest on warrant and return in criminal cases,
one dollar.

For collection of fines adjudged and levied by the Criminal
Courts of Baltimore City six per centum of the amounts so
collected.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, Tht this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.
