for any reason, such holding shall not be construed as
affecting the validity of any remaining section or part of
any section, it being the legislative intent that the remain-
der of this Act shall stand, notwithstanding the invalidity
of such section or part of any section.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 957.
(Senate Bill 253)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
30 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-
title "Two Licenses to Same Person Prohibited, " per-
mitting licensing authorities, both State and Local, to
issue more than one license for the same premises under
certain conditions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 30 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, "
sub-title "Two Licenses to Same Person Prohibited, " be,
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

No more than one license provided by this Act, ex-
cept by way of renewal, shall be issued in any County or
Baltimore City, to any person, or for the use of any part-
nership, corporation or unincorporated association, in Bal-
timore City or any County of the State, and no more than
one license shall be issued for the same premises except
as provided in Section 3 and nothing herein shall be
construed to apply to sub-sections 1 and 2 of Section 7 of
this Article.

Provided that the holder of any wholesale license may,
upon application, as hereinabove provided, apply for and
obtain a beer, wine and liquor license, Class A, for separate
place of business from that designated in the wholesaler's
