beyond June 30, 1947. And be it further provided that the
salary of the Secretary-Treasurer of the Commission shall be
fixed by the Commission.

L. Upon the recommendation of the Vice-Chairman and
Park Commissioner, the Commission may assign living quar-
ters in any house or building within its jurisdiction to any
person or official connected with the Commission.

M. When the Commission has been notified in writing prior
to December 31, 1944 of any injury sustained by any person in
any of the parks, buildings or recreation programs operated
by the Commission, which injuries were incurred without con-
tributory negligence on the part of the person injured, the
Commission is authorized to pay the actual out-of-pocket
medical and hospital expenses caused by such injuries.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That if any word, phrase,
clause, sentence or other part or parts of this Act shall be held
unconstitutional, such unconstitutionality shall not affect the
validity of the remaining parts of this Act or of all other
sections thereof. The General Assembly hereby declares that
it would have passed the remaining parts of this Act or any
section thereof if it had known such word, phrase, clause,
sentence, part or parts, or section would be declared unconsti-
tutional.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That except as otherwise
provided herein, all acts or parts of acts or laws and parts of
laws inconsistent herewith or contrary hereto, be and the same
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
2A of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "State Roads", relating to Resident Main-
tenance Engineers in the several counties of the State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2A of Article 89B of the Annotated Code
