voters affected thereby; all members of the said respective
Boards of Supervisors shall sign their names to said books
containing the names so transcribed and shall certify that said
books contain all the names of persons entitled to vote in such
newly established district, precinct or polling place, said cer-
tificate to appear on the blank line next following the last
name in each letter of the alphabetical list of names in said
books so transcribed and to be attested by the clerk of the said
respective Boards of Supervisors.

REGISTRATION.

12. The Board of Supervisors of Elections in each of the
counties shall designate two of the judges appointed, as pro-
vided in Section 6 of this Article (taking one judge from each of
the two major political parties of the State) in each precinct as
registration officers and the two judges so named shall con-
stitute the board of registry for their respective districts or
precincts. Said officers of registration, and each of them, in
addition to their powers as judges of election, shall have,
during the respective times of the appointed sittings of said
board of registry, authority to keep the peace and to preserve
order and enforce obedience to their lawful commands at and
around their places of registration; to keep the access to such
places open and unobstructed, to prevent and suppress riots,
tumult, violence and disorder, any violation of this Article,
and all other improper practices at and around their places
of registration; they may compel by summons or attachment
the presence of witnesses before them for any purpose con-
nected with the duties of their office, and may commit for trial
any person committing at or around their place of registra-
tion any breach of the peace or other offense forbidden by this
Article; they shall have the power to issue any of said sum-
monses, attachments or commitments to the Sheriff of said
county or to any constable thereof and all such processes shall
be served by said officers in the same manner as if issued by a
court of record having jurisdiction of the subject-matter or by
a justice of the peace exercising police powers within such re-
spective jurisdictions, the said sheriff or constable serving any
of said processes to receive the same fees as in other State
cases. The police authorities for the respective counties shall
detail such number of peace officers as may be required to pre-
serve order at the places of registration in said counties.

13. The Supervisors of Elections in the respective counties
shall furnish to each board of registry registration records
which shall be in the form of (a) registry books or (b) cards
or loose-leaf pages. If (a) registry books are used, there shall
be two such books which shall be prepared substantially in the
following form:
