specified on said signboard, without a. permit in writing from
the State Roads Commission shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more
than one hundred dollars, for each such offense; in addition to
which the owner or person in control of such vehicle shall be
liable to the said Commission for all damages which may be
done to the said road or highway, by the violation of the regula-
tion so prescribed. In any trial of any person charged with a
violation of any of the provisions of this section oral proof of
the existence of such signboard posted as herein provided and
its contents shall be accepted as prima facie evidence of the
validity of the regulation thereon prescribed.

SEC. 2. And 'be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 835.
(House Bill 716)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Tal-
bot County", sub-title "Fire Companies", said new section
to be known as Section 257C and to follow immediately
after Section 257B, as said section was amended by Chapter
356 of the Acts of 1941, authorizing the County Commis-
sioners, in their discretion, to purchase radio equipment
for fire companies.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Talbot County", sub-title "Fire Companies", said
new section to be known as Section 257C, to follow imme-
diately after Section 257B, as said section was amended by
Chapter 356 of the Acts of 1941, and to read as follows:

257C. The County Commissioners of Talbot County may
and they are hereby authorized, in their discretion, to expend
from the general funds of said county a sum or sums sufficient
for the installation, repair and upkeep of radio equipment
for the purposes of communication among the various fire
companies of Talbot County.
