same for the use and benefit of the owner or person who de-
livered the goods and things who shall fraudulently convert
the same to his own use, shall, where the value of the thing so
converted is Twenty-five Dollars or more, be deemed guilty of
a felony, and shall restore the goods or things so converted or
pay the full value to the owner thereof or to the person who
delivered the goods and things and upon conviction be fined not
more than One Thousand Dollars or imprisoned for not more
than five years or both fined and imprisoned and shall, where
the value of the goods or things so converted is less than Twen-
ty-five Dollars, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall
restore the goods and things so converted or pay the full value
thereof to the owner thereof or to the person who delivered
the goods and things and upon conviction be fined not more
than Five Hundred Dollars or imprisoned in the House of Cor-
rection or jail for not more than one year or both fined and im-
prisoned. Where the value of the goods or things so converted
is less than Twenty-five dollars he shall be prosecuted in the
manner prescribed in Section 388 of this Article.

Provided that nothing contained herein in this section shall
be construed to alter or repeal any section contained in this
Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 832.
(House Bill 708)

AN ACT to authorize and empower The Mayor and Council of
Salisbury to borrow upon the faith and credit of Salisbury
a sum or sums of money not exceeding Twenty-five Thou-
sand Dollars ($25, 000. 00), to issue a note or notes or other
evidence of indebtedness for the payment of same, to use the
proceeds thereof for the purpose of purchasing and installing
additional fire fighting equipment and apparatus, including
an aerial truck, radio transmitters and receivers, signal de-
vices and other necessary equipment in the City of Salisbury,
to levy upon all assessable property in the City of Salisbury
and collect taxes thereon in an amount sufficient to pay the
principal and interest on said note, notes or other evidence
of indebtedness and exempting this Act and the note or
notes or other evidences of indebtedness issued thereunder
from the provisions of Sections 33-36, inclusive of Article
31 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), and
