CHAPTER 318.

CHAP. 318.

AN ACT to provide for the building of a new
Schoolhouse in School District number twenty-
four, of Anne Arundel county.

Passed March
5, 3860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Anne Arundel county, be and they are hereby
authorised and required at their next annual levy
to levy on the assessable property of said county,
the sum of four hundred dollars to be applied to
the building of a schoolhouse on the lot of ground
held by the trustees of school district number twen-
ty-four, of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That George Warfield,
Michael Bannon and William B. Bond, be and
they are hereby appointed a committee to contract
for and superintend the construction of the said
schoolhouse, and that said committee are hereby
empowered to draw on the said county commission-
ers for the said sum of four hundred dollars when-
ever the trustees of the said school district or a ma-
jority of them shall certify to the said county com-
missioners that the schoolhouse so to be erected is
completed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said build
committee, be and they are hereby authorised
sell the old schoolhouse now on said lot of
ground, or use any of the materials thereof that
may be found suitable in the erection of the new
house in their discretion, and if sold, to apply the
proceeds towards the payment for the new house.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said build-
ing committee shall return to the said county com-
missioners under oath, an account of the expendi-
ture of the said sum of money so to be levied as
hereinbefore provided.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
go into effect from the date of its passage.
