CHAP, 280.

from the passage of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 279.

AN ACT for the better collection of the revenue of
this State from certain sales by auction in the
city of Baltimore.

Lien.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the duty imposed by the law of
this State on all sales of land, tenements and here-
ditaments, or of any interest therein at public auc-
tion in the city of Baltimore, shall be a lien on the
said property when sold as aforesaid.

Auction duty.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That every pur-
chaser of lands, tenements or hereditaments, or of
any interest therein purchased at public auction in
the city of Baltimore shall be entitled to pay the
auction duty on such sale, and to claim the said
payment as a credit on his purchase as aforesaid.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall go into effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 280.

Passed March
3, 1860.

AN ACT entitled, An act to repeal the one hun-
dred and thirty-fifth section of the Code of Public
Local Laws for Somerset county, and the ninety-
fourth section of the Code of Public Local Laws
for Worcester county.

Repealed.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the one hundred and thirty-fifth
