AN ACT to add a section to article fifty-nine of the
Code of Public General Laws, relating to Mar-

article 59.

riages.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the following be added as the
eighth section of article 59 of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to marriages:

Certain mar-
riages made
valid.
|
All marriages heretofore made and celebrated,
in or out of this State, by and between persons re-
lated within the following degrees of affinity, to
wit: a man and his niece, or a woman and her
nephew, be and the same are hereby confirmed and
made valid, to every intent and purpose, from the
time of the celebration of such marriages respec-
tively; and every such marriage shall be held and
taken by all courts of this State to be good and suf-
ficient in law, to all intents and purposes, and this
section shall be in force from the day of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore and Liberty
Turnpike Road Company in Carroll and Fred-
erick counties.
|
|
|
Incorporated.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Stephen R. Gore, Josiah Cover,
G. W. Manro, Warren L. Little, William Yon,
William Eden, John D. Gaither, James Plane and
Henry Baker, be and they are hereby incorporated
a body politic for making a turnpike road, to be
commenced at Blain's Mill on the north branch of
the Patapsco and extending to the town of Liberty,
in Frederick county.

Capital stock.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said company shall not exceed fifty thousand
dollars, to be divided into shares of twenty dollars
each, one dollar to be paid at the time of the sub-
scription thereof, and the remainder in four instal-
ments, at the option of the president and board of
