AN ACT incorporating a company to open in part
and improve the road from Frederick city, in
Frederick county, to the Spout Spring, on the
Hamburg road, passing Bradrup's saw-mill.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That subscription books shall be
opened for a capital of twelve, thousand dollars in
shares of twenty dollars each, and that David
Kemp, Nathan O. Neighbours,. Joshua Dill, Val-
entine A. Albaugh, Gideon Bantz, William H.
Feager, John Sifford, William T. Preston, Corne-
lius A. Staley and Samuel Wolf, be and they are
hereby appointed commissioners to receive subscrip-
tions at Frederick, at the, city hall, and that books
for receiving subscriptions of stock shall be opened
at the place named on the first Monday of May
next, of which at least three weeks previous notice
shall have been given in two or more newspapers
printed in Fredericktown, at which time and place
at least two of said commissioners shall attend, and
the said books shall be kept open for subscriptions,
for at least three days, and shall, at the termina-
tion of said period, make out true lists of the
names of all subscribers, with the shares subscribed
by each, to be returned by said commissioners to
the clerk of the Circuit court of Frederick county,
who is hereby authorised and directed to. record the
same among the land records of said county, and
an attested copy of such record, under the official
seal of said court, shall in all cases be sufficient
evidence of such subscriptions.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the stockhold-
ers of said company be and they are hereby incor-
porated and established a body corporate by the
name and style of the President and Directors of
the Frederick City and Catoctin Mountain Road
company, and by the same name shall have succes-
sion during the continuance of this corporation,
and the said stockholders and their successors, by
the name aforesaid, shall sue and be sued, answer
and be answered, petition or complain in any court
of law or equity in this State or elsewhere, and may
do and exercise every other matter and thing by
the name aforesaid, and they are hereby authorised
to do in virtue of this act, and shall have power to
