CHAP. 253
Persons going
to church ex-
empt from
paying toll.
|
SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That it shall not be
lawful for said company to ask, demand or receive
toll from any person or persons going to or return-
ing from church, or a funeral, or from any person
or persons within the lines of whose lands any
gate or gates may be erected, for passing from one
part to another part of said land along said road.

County com-
missioners
empowered to
subscribe to
capital stock.
|
SEC. 19. And be it enacted, That the county com-
missioners of Frederick county be, and they are
hereby authorised and empowered, to subscribe for
as many shares in the capital stock of said company
as in their judgment they may deem advisable, the
said subscription not to exceed one hundred and
fifty shares.

|
Construction.
|
SEC. 20. And be it enacted, That nothing in
this act shall be so construed as to allow said com-
pany to issue any note, token, scrip, certificate or
other evidence of debt to be used as currency.
|
|
|
In force.
|
SEC. 21. And be it enacted, That this act of
incorporation shall continue in force for fifty years,
|
|
|
Reservation.
|
and that the General Assembly hereby reserves the
right to alter, amend or repeal this act at pleasure,
and that it shall take effect from, the date of its
passage.

AN ACT to provide for a State subscription to
"Wingate's Maryland Register" for eighteen
hundred and sixty and eighteen hundred and
sixty-one.

Authorised
to subscribe,
&c.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the State Librarian be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to subscribe for
three hundred copies of the Maryland Register for
eighteen hundred and sixty and eighteen hundred
and sixty-one, when published by James Wingate,
at four dollars per copy, and that upon the delivery
of said books to the State library, the comptroller
is hereby authorised to issue his warrant to the
