CHAPTER 146.

29, 1860.

AN ACT authorising the County Commissioners
of Prince George's county to subscribe for a cor-
rect map of said county.

Authorised
to make levy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Prince George's county, be and they are hereby au-
thorised, in their discretion, at the next annual
levy, to levy a sum not exceeding five hundred dol-
lars, for the purpose of subscribing to the making
a correct map of the said county upon such condi-
tions as the said commissioners shall see fit.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 147.

AN ACT to incorporate the Westernport Academy,
of Allegany county.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John P. Ehlen, Arnold Gus-
tell, William Combs, William H. Miller, and such
other persons as may become associated with them,
be and they are hereby incorporated and made a
body politic, by the name and style of the West-
ernport Academy, and by that name may sue and
be sued, and have perpetual succession, and have
and use a common seal, and the same alter arid re-
new at pleasure; and shall be authorised to have,
hold and possess such real estate in or near the
town of Westernport, in Allegany county, as may
be necessary or proper for the purpose of establish-
ing and erecting an academy or school thereon,
and the same may sell, lease or dispose of at plea-
sure.

stock, &c.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the persons
named in the first section of this act, or a majority
of them, may open books and receive subscriptions
to the capital stock of said corporation to an amount
