ment in the Circuit court for the county where such
offences may be committed, and upon conviction of
such offence, shall be punished by fine and im-
prisonment in the discretion of the court.

CHAP. 97.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That if this road shall
not be commenced in two years from the passage of
of this act and shall not be finished in ten years
from the time of its commencement, then this
act shall be null and void.

SEC. 19. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
act shall be so construed as to authorise the said com-
pany to issue any note, token, scrip or other evi-
dence of debt to be used as currency, and the Legis-
lature hereby reserves the right to alter, amend
or repeal this act at pleasure.

CHAPTER 97.

Reservation.

AN ACT to amend the sixth, seventh, eighth,
ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, four-
teenth, fifthteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, eigh-
teenth, twenty-third, twenty-fourth and twenty-
fifth sections of Article of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws, relating to the collection of State and
county taxes in Howard county.

Passed Feb.
17, 1860.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth,
eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifth-
teenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth sections
of Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, re-
lating to the collection of State and county taxes
in Howard county, be, and the same are hereby,
repealed, and the following enacted as substitutes
therefor:

Repealed.

6. From and after the first day of April, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty, Howard county shall be
divided into two collection districts, as follows: the
first and second election districts to compose the
first collection district, and the third, fourth and
fifth election districts to compose the second collec-
tion district.
