ground shall be valid to pass the title to the pur-
chaser or purchasers of the same or any part there-
of, free, clear, and discharged from the trustees of
the First Society of the New Jerusalem church in
the city of Baltimore, their successors, or any per-
son claiming under them, and free, clear, and dis-
charged from the claim of all that are or have been
lot-holders in the said lot of ground, their heirs,
or assigns, and all persons claiming under them.

CHAP. 75.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public Local Laws
of Somerset county, relating to apprentices, arti-
cle nineteen, by adding thereto the following sec-
tions:

24, 1860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That all persons to whom free ne-
groes are bound as apprentices in Somerset county,
may, under an order of the Orphans' court of said
county authorising them to do so, hire out said ap-
prentices.

SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That the Orphans'
court of said county shall not authorise the hiring
of any apprentice for the prosecution of any other
trade or occupation than that to which he was first
bound.

Restriction.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Or-
phans' court of said county shall, if, in their
judgment, the interest of the apprentice requires it,
either on account of improper treatment or failure
or neglect on the part of the hirer to give proper
instructions to such apprentice in his trade or occu-
pation, order the hirer to return said apprentice to
his master, and may order such sum to be paid by
the master to the hirer as they may think just.
