conferred upon said Authority, providing that said bonds
shall in no way be the debt or obligation of the State
of Maryland or any sub-division thereof and exempting
said bonds from taxation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That ten new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "University
of Maryland", said new sections to be known as Sections
235A-235J, inclusive, to follow immediately after Section
235 of said Article, and to read as follows:

235A. In order to provide additional housing facilities
for University of Maryland students and to provide build-
ings for physical education and recreation, there is hereby
created a body corporate and politic, to be Jcnoivn as the
University of Maryland Building Authority, hereinafter re-
ferred to as the Authority. The members of the Authority
shall be the persons constituting the Board of Regents of
the University of Maryland. The Chairman of the Board
of Regents of the University of Maryland shall be the Chair-
man of the Authority and the Secretary of the Board of
Regents shall be the Secretary of the Authority.

235B. The Authority is hereby authorized and empowered:

(a) To construct a combination physical education, audi-
torium and indoor athletics building, three dormitories, ten
other housing units for fraternities and sororities, a gen-
eral recreation building at College Park and a general recre-
ation building in Baltimore;

(b) To fix and revise, from time to time, fees and other
charges to students, to fix charges for any other group or
individuals making use of the above-proposed buildings, in
order to provide funds for retirement of revenue bonds issued
for the herein stated purpose;

(c) To acquire, hold and dispose of real and personal
property in the exercise of its powers and the performance
of its duties under this sub-title;

(d) To make and enter into all contracts and agreements
necessary or incidental to the performance of its duties and
the execution of its potvers under this sub-title, provided
that all such acts and agreements shall be payable solely
from the proceeds of revenue bonds issued under the pro-
visions of this sub-title or from revenues otherwise provided;
