MARYLAND, Sct.:
At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun and
held in the City of Annapolis, on the First day of
February, 1950, and ending on the Second day of
March, 1950, the Honorable William Preston Lane,
Jr., being Governor of the State, the following Laws
were enacted, to wit:
CHAPTER 1
(Senate Bill 3)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-sec-
tions 180 (c) and (d) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Revenue and
Taxes", sub-title "State Tax Commission", as said sub-sec-
tions were amended by Chapter 64 of the Acts of the Ex-
traordinary Session of 1948, and to add a new sub-section
to said section 180, said new sub-section to be known as
(d-1) and to follow immediately after sub-section (d)
thereof, relating to the payment of compensation of the as-
sessors of the several counties and of Baltimore City and
to the appointment and removal of assessors in Baltimore
City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sub-sections 180 (c) and (d) of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryand (1947 Supplement), title "Rev-
enue and Taxes", sub-title "State Tax Commission", as said
sub-sections were amended by Chapter 64 of the Acts of the
Extraordinary Session of 1948, be and they are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that a new
sub-section be and it is hereby added to said section 180,
said new sub-section to be known as (d-1) and to follow im-
mediately after sub-section (d) thereof, all to read as fol-
lows :

(c) The annual salary of each assessor shall be determined
by the classification of his respective county or of Baltimore
