tertainment is to be produced, and shall specify the name of
the drama, play, performance, concert or entertainment in
which each minor is to participate. A permit shall be re-
vocable by the officer authorized to issue permits should it
be found that the environment in which the drama, play,
performance or entertainment is being produced is not the
proper environment and that the conditions of employment
are detrimental to the health or morals of such minor. The
Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industry
shall prescribe and supply the forms required for carrying
out the provisions of this section. As distinguished from pro-
fessional performers as designated in Section 11 (a) a minor
not less than 6 years of age may participate in professional
performances and non-professional amateur performances for
modeling, appearance in fashion shows, radio or television
pageants or for charitable purposes, not to exceed twelve per-
formances in any one year, for a performance not to exceed
20 minutes before the public. Permits for such performances
to be issued by the Department of Labor and Industry upon
the written approval of the principal of the school attended
by the minor and by and with the written consent of the
minor's parent or legal guardian and under the same terms
and conditions as prescribed for professional performers as
designated in Section 11 (a). The provisions of this section
shall not prohibit the appearance of minors who are partici-
pating in school or church plays or entertainments, or in
education programs in the public service.
12. No minor under the age of 18 years shall be employed,
permitted or suffered to work in, about, or in connection with
blast furnaces, docks, wharves or slips, or as pilots, firemen
or engineers upon any vessel or boat engaged in navigation
or commerce or at switch tending, gate tending, track repair-
ing, or as brakeman, fireman, engineer, motorman or con-
ductor upon any railroad, whether steam or electric or hy-
draulic, or in the erection and repair of electric wires, in
oiling or cleaning machinery in motion, in the operation of
emery wheels or any abrasive polishing wheel where articles
of the baser metals or iridium are manufactured, or in any
distillery, brewery or other establishment where malt or alco-
holic liquors are manufactured, packed, wrapped or bottled.
13. (a) No minor under 18 years of age may be employed,
permitted, or suffered to work in or about any plant manufac-
turing explosives or articles containing explosive components
except minors 16 and 17 years of age may be employed in
plants manufacturing small arms ammunition not exceeding
.50 caliber in size, shotgun shells, or blasting caps when
