thereof, for the purpose of enabling such residents to register and
vote by mail, as in this Act provided, and generally to cooperate
in every way with the military and civil officers of the United
States and all departments, commissions and agencies thereof, to
enable such persons so to do; creating a War Ballot Commission
and defining the powers and authority thereof; providing that this
Act shall be liberally construed to effectuate its purposes; making
certain acts criminal offenses and prescribing penalties therefor;
suspending all laws inconsistent with this Act to the extent of such
inconsistency; and providing for the severability of the various pro-
visions of this Act."

Senate Bill No. 4—By Senator T. F. Johnson:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 138 of Article 24 of Flack's Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title 'Worcester County', sub-title 'Ocean
City7, changing and lengthening the hours during which the polls
shall be kept open during municipal elections in the town of Ocean
City, Maryland."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Elections.

Senate Bill No. 6—By Senator Turnbull:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 2D of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title 'County Commissioners', sub-title 'General Pro-
visions', as said section was enacted by Chapter 667 of the Acts of
1949, relating to the payment of supplementary retirement benefits
to retired school teachers in Baltimore County."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Baltimore
County Delegation.

Senate Bill No. 7—By Senator Turnbull:

A Bill entitled "An Act to add 3 new sections to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition), title
'Baltimore County', to be known as Sections 185A to 185C, to be
under a new sub-title 'Title 15A, Law Department', and to follow
immediately after Section 185 of said Article, and to repeal Section
64 of the said Code, sub-title 'County Treasurer', establishing a
department of law in Baltimore County and repealing the position
of Counsel to the County Treasurer."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Baltimore
