House Bill No. 9—By the Prince George's County Delegation:
A Bill entitled "An Act to add two new sections to the Prince
George's County Code (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title 'Prince George's County',
sub-title 'Laurel', sub-heading 'Boundaries', said new sections to be
known as Sections 852A and 852B, and to follow immediately after
Section 852 of said Article, to extend the boundaries of the Town
of Laurel, Prince George's County; to provide for certain improve-
ments or municipal functions within said area; to provide for
payment therefor by special assessment or ad valorem tax levied
against properties in said area; to apportion taxes collected therein;
and to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Laurel to borrow
money upon the faith and credit of the Town of Laurel for the
purposes set forth herein."
Which was read the first time and re-ferred to Senators Sothoron,
Stromeyer and Monroe.
Senator Sothoron asked that the rules be suspended in order to
report the following bill, and two-thirds of the Senators-elect,
voting in the affirmative, the rules were suspended by yeas and
nays as follows:
