MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT.

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT

ANNAPOLIS, MD., July 27, 1950.

Mr. Speaker and Ladies and Gentlemen of the
House of Delegates:

Allow me, as you close this extraordinary session of the General
Assembly, to extend to the members of the Senate and the House
of Delegates an expression of appreciation for the expeditious
handling of the matters presented for your consideration.

Under the legislation adopted by this session, the privilege of
franchise has been insured for great numbers of the citizens of
Maryland.

As in the past, it has been a pleasure to work with you.

I trust that the satisfaction of having adopted these measures
to safeguard the voting privileges of these citizens will outweigh
any inconvenience caused by the necessity of your presence in
Annapolis.

Respectfully,

WM. PRESTON LANE, JR.,

Governor.

Which was read and ordered journalized.
