(d) The State Tax Commission shall fix the classification of
each county only after consultation with the respective
Boards of County Commissioners, and in making such classifi-
cation shall take into consideration the number of individual
lots or parcels assessed, the assessable basis, the number of
assessors employed and other pertinent factors, relating to
the work of said assessors.
(e) The County Commissioners of Montgomery County may
levy and pay such additional sum in excess of the amounts
hereinabove prescribed to the assessors of said county, as in
their discretion they shall determine; provided, however, that
the portion of said salaries to be paid by the State shall be
limited to the amounts as prescribed in the schedule herein-
before set forth.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1948.

(House Bill 43)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
7(3) of Article 72 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Oysters and Clams", sub-title "Dredg-
ing in County Waters", providing that oysters may be
taken in a part of Tangier Sound only by tongs and patent
tongs.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 7(3) of Article 72 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Oysters and Clams",
sub-title "Dredging in County Waters", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
7(3). Somerset County Only—All the waters of Somerset
County except Pocomoke Sound, and the Wicomico, Manokin,
and Big Annemessex Rivers, which rivers shall be defined as
follows:
Wicomico River: Easterly of a straight line drawn from
the former dwelling of Thomas Tigner near Hains Point to
the most southwesterly point of Clay Island.
