ruffed grouse, rabbit or hare, and partridge (quail), provided
an attendant accompanies it or them, but in so doing no person
shall be allowed or permitted to carry a gun or fire-arms of any
description. Provided, however, it shall be unlawful for any
person to permit his dog or dogs to catch or kill any game dur-
ing said training; provided, however, any person training dogs
during the period named herein must have in possession a
hunter's license and tag displayed on outer garment.

(h) Any person allowing any dog or dogs belonging to him to
run at large on any property other than that owned or tenanted
by him between March 1 and September 9 and pursue game or
destroy the eggs or nest thereof shall pay a penalty of Five Dol-
lars ($5. 00) and costs for each and every offense. Any person
harboring a dog or dogs shall be termed the lawful owner of
same. Any salaried deputy game warden may kill any dog
which does not bear a license found destroying game, the nest,
or eggs thereof.

Any person may and it shall be the duty of any deputy game
warden or other officer of this State to humanely destroy any
cat found hunting or killing any bird or animal protected by
law and no action for damages shall be maintained for such
killing.

(i) It shall be unlawful for any person, except when such
person holds a valid game breeder's license for fiscal year, to
sell, offer for sale, purchase, or offer to purchase, barter, ex-
change, or buy at any time within the State of Maryland any
game bird or game animal of any species (except muskrat)
whether same has been caught or killed within the State of
Maryland or in any other State, territory, or country, except
live game may be purchased and kept in captivity for propaga-
tion purposes only upon securing a permit from the Game
Warden.

(j) Provided, however, nothing contained in this Section shall
prohibit the person lawfully killing a rabbit from selling same
to a consumer in the county where said rabbit was killed for
food, however, same shall not be offered for resale, transported
or shipped beyond the confines of said county in which said
rabbit was killed.

22. BAG LIMITS PER DAY. It shall be unlawful for any
person to take or kill in any one day while hunting more game
than hereinafter enumerated:
