CHAPTER 680.
(House Bill 791)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title
"Supervisors of Elections", said new section to be known as
Section 8%, and to follow immediately after Section 8 of
said Article, as said section was amended by Chapter 148 of
the Acts of 1941, providing for an increased compensation
of the Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore City and the
employees in the office of said Supervisors of Elections for
the period June 1, 1943 to June 1, 1945.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Elections", sub-title "Supervisors of Elections", said new
section to be known as Section 8%, and to follow immediately
after Section 8 of this Article, as said section was amended by
Chapter 148 of the Acts of 1941, and to read as follows:

8y2. For the period June 1, 1943 to June 1, 1945, the salary
of every Supervisor of Elections of Baltimore City and every
clerk or other employee of the Supervisors of Elections of said
City, except temporary employees, shall be increased as
follows:

(a) There shall be an increase of 15% upon all annual
salaries up to and including Two Thousand Dollars
(12, 000. 00).

(b) There shall be an increase of 7%% upon all annual
salaries exceeding Two Thousand Dollars (f2, 000. 00) and not
more than Three Thousand Dollars (f3, 000. 00).

(e) There shall be an increase of 5% upon all annual
salaries above Three Thousand Dollars (f3, 000. 00).

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.
