hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

262. (a) Every citizen of Salisbury who has resided
within the corporate limits of the said City for six consecutive
months next preceding any City Election and who was a quali-
fied voter at the last preceding State or Congressional Elec-
tion, or who may reach the age of twenty-one years between
the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November and the
date of any City Election, as hereinafter provided, and every
person who is a citizen of the United States and twenty-one
years of age arid who, at the time of any election is, and for at
least one year prior thereto, has been assessed on the tax books
of said town as the owner of real property of the value of at
least Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), shall be a duly qualified
voter of the City and every duly qualified voter of the City
who is duly registered in accordance with the provisions of
this Act, shall be entitled to vote at any and all City Elections.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 677.

(House Bill 788)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Justices of the
Peace", sub-title "Process and Practice", said new section
to be known as Section 37A, and to follow immediately after
Section 37 of said Article, relating to the issuance of peace
bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Process and Practice", said
new section to be known as Section 37A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 37 of said Article, and to read as follows:

37A. Where any person makes application to any trial
magistrate for the posting of a peace bond, the trial magis-
trate shall not require the posting of such bond, unless on
preliminary hearing it shall appear that there is prima facie
evidence of the need for such bond.
