CHAPTER 82.
(Senate Bill 168)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 15 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Kent County", sub-title "Auditing Committee", said
new section to be known as Section 32A and to follow
immediately after Section 32 of said Article, as said
section was amended by Chapter 531 of the Acts of 1941,
authorizing the Judges of the Circuit Court for Kent
County, in their discretion, to appoint a Certified Public
Accountant instead of an Auditing Committee to audit
the books of certain officers of Kent County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "Audit-
ing Committee", said new section to be known as Section
32A, to follow immediately after Section 32 of said Article,
as said section was amended by Chapter 531 of the Acts
of 1941, and to read as follows:

32A. The Judges of the Circuit Court for Kent County
may, in their discretion, appoint a Certified Public Ac-
countant, instead of the Auditing Committee provided for
in Section 32, to audit the accounts, vouchers, books and
papers specified in said Section 32. It shall be the duty
of any Certified Public Accountant so appointed to perform
the duties set forth in Sections 32 to 36A, inclusive, of this
Article and he shall be paid for such services such com-
pensation as said Judges may certify as being just and
adequate, said compensation to be paid by the County
Commissioners of Kent County.

All the provisions of Sections 32 to 36A, inclusive, shall
apply in the event of the appointment of a Certified Public
Accountant to the same extent as in the appointment of
an Auditing Committee.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.
