That the members of said Board shall receive no salary or
compensation.

That, before entering upon the duties of his office, each mem-
ber of said Board shall take the Constitutional oath of office
before the Mayor.

That said Board shall select one of its members as Clerk.

That all citizens of the State of Maryland and are so regis-
tered upon the registration books of Prince George's County
and reside within the town of Lansdale, shall be eligible to
vote at all town elections. Provided, however, that nothing in
this paragraph shall apply to the election provided for in Sec-
tion 77 of this Act to determine whether or not this charter
shall be adopted except all property owners who reside within
the town of Lansdale and are over 21 years of age shall be
eligible to vote on the question of adoption of this charter, and
for the election of its first officers only.

That annually on the first Monday in May, if not a legal
holiday, then on the following day, said Board of Election
Supervisors shall conduct an election by ballot for the election
of the Mayor and Council. For each election there shall be
one voting place in each ward and the polls shall be open from
1 to 7 P. M. Notice of the election, listing of candidates and
location of polls shall be posted by the Board of Election Super-
visors throughout each ward ten days before election.

That said Board shall prepare ballots containing the names
of all candidates that have properly petitioned the Board to
have their names appear on said ballots.

Any person who resides within each ward may become a
candidate for Councilman of that ward upon filing a petition
containing the signatures of 10 persons of that ward, with the
Supervisors of Election of that ward and who is a citizen and
voter himself or herself of that ward, except a candidate for
the office of Mayor, who shall be a registered voter of the town,
shall be elected at large, but shall file his petition with the
Supervisors of Election in each ward.

Each ward of said town shall be represented by two (2)
Councilmen, who shall serve without compensation.

After the polls close each Board of Election Supervisors shall
count the ballots and certify over their signature who is elected
for that ward as Councilmen and forward the total number of
votes for Mayor to all the Councilmen who shall compile
same and declare who is elected Mayor. All newly elected
officers shall take office 011 the third Monday in May.
