diately after Section 168 of. said Article, giving persons in
the military, naval or other armed services or persons whose
duties require them to be with such services certain rights
to file applications for licenses, certificates, permits or other
authorizations required by law within a certain period after
the end of the present war.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments",
sub-title "The Department of State Employment and Regis-
tration", said new section to be known as Section 168A, and to
follow immediately after Section 168 of said Article, and to
read as follows:

168A. Whenever under the laws of this State a license,
certificate, permit or other authorization may be required in
order for any person to engage in any profession, trade or
calling or to do any other act or thing and such law or laws
provide for the renewal of such license, certificate, permit or
other authorization upon timely application therefor to any
board or agency enumerated in Section 162 of this Article or
to any other board or agency now or hereafter existing as
described in Section 168 of this Article whose duty or part of
whose duty it is to examine or license applicants for admission
to practice or engage in any profession, trade or calling, and
the person entitled to make such application fails to file the
same, at the required time because said person is in the mili-
tary, naval or other armed services of the United States or
because said person's duties requires his or her presence with
said services, said person may file application for such re-
newal at any time within six months after having been released
from service, and said person so filing shall have the same
rights and privileges to the issuance of such renewal license,
certificate, permit or other authorization as though his or her
application therefor had been filed by the time required.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.
