the administration of the Department as may seem fit to him
and to prescribe and impose fines, not exceeding Twenty-five
Dollars ($25. 00), for the violation thereof. He shall have
authority to assign, reassign and to transfer each employee of
the Department to service at such stations, and within the
limits of this Article, to perform such duties as he shall
designate.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
166 and 167 of Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title. "Charles County", sub-
title "La Plata", providing that town elections shall be
held biennially.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 166 and 167 of Article 9 of the Code of
Public Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles
County", sub-title "La Plata", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
166. The citizens of said town of La Plata having the quali-
fication prescribed for voters by the laws of this State, and
having resided in said town three months previous to any
municipal election, shall on the first Monday in May, 1943 and
biennially thereafter elect three male citizens, taxpayers of
the said town of La Plata, who are assessed on the tax books
of Charles County as owning five hundred dollars' worth of
property within the corporate limits of said town of La Plata,
who shall have resided in said town for six months next pre-
ceding said election, as the Town Commissioners of La Plata,
to serve for two years, or until their successors shall be elected
and qualified. Said Town Commissioners shall receive no pay
for their services as such, and they shall continue to reside in
said town of La Plata during their term of office.
167. The Town Commissioners shall on or before the
first Monday in April, 1943, and biennially thereafter, give
