pay, unless and until said bill is approved by the Commission,
Provided, however, that if there are no dependents and the
deceased employee leaves sufficient estate to pay same, all
expenses of last sickness and burial shall be paid by said
estate and not by the employer or insurance company, or Com-
mission out of the State Accident Fund, as the case may be.
The Commission shall have full power to adopt rules and regu-
lations with respect to furnishing medical, nurse, hospital
services and medicine to injured employees entitled thereto
and for the payment therefor.

SEC. 2. And "be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 301.
(House Bill 358)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 491
of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Garrett County", sub-title "Sheriff",
providing a maximum annual salary for the Deputy Sheriff
of said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 497 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Garrett County" sub-
title "Sheriff", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

497. The first deputy sheriff appointed under this Act shall
be appointed to serve until the first day of January, 1910,
unless removed sooner by cause, and appointments shall be
made thereafter for the term of two years, unless sooner
removed by the sheriff for incompetency, disobedience or
neglect of duty, or other causes which, in the judgment of the
said sheriff, may be sufficient for such removal; and in case of
removal as hereinbefore provided, the new appointee shall be
appointed for the unexpired term of the person removed, and
the salary of said deputy sheriff shall be thirteen hundred and
twenty dollars in each year, and shall be levied for and paid
by the County Commissioners of Garrett County in equal
monthly installments.
