To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, THOMAS ELMO JONES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
317 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), as amended by Chapter 168 of the Acts of 1943, DO
HEREBY CERTIFY^ That at the General Election held in this State
on Tuesday, November 3, 1942', An Act, known as Chapter 870
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1941, was submitted to
the voters of Kent County for their adoption or rejection, under
provisions of Chapter 870, said Act being:
An Act to add a new section to Article 2'B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Alco-
holic Beverages", sub-title "Regulation and Restric-
tions", said new section to be known as Section 42A and
to follow immediately after Section 42 of said Article,
making it unlawful to sell or for any licensed dealer to
give alcoholic beverages in Kent County between the
hours of mid-night on Saturday and 6 A. M. on Monday
and providing for a referendum thereon.
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 2, 125 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 870 of the Acts of 1941,
and 763 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act, in
the State of Maryland; and a majority being in favor of the
adoption thereof, it was thereby ratified by the voters of said
State.
