forcibly, or wilfully induces, causes, coerces, requires, permits,
or directs another to violate any provision of this Article is
likewise guilty of such offense.

259. OFFENSES BY PERSONS OWNING OR CONTROLLING VE-
HICLES. It is unlawful for the owner, or any other person,
employing or otherwise directing the driver of a vehicle to re-
quire or knowingly to permit the operation of such vehicle
upon a highway in any manner contrary to law.

260. PERSON ARRESTED ENTITLED TO IMMEDIATE HEARING
BEFORE THE NEAREST AVAILABLE JUSTICE OR TRIAL MAGISTRATE.
BOND REQUIREMENTS. In case any person shall be taken into
custody because of a violation of any of the provisions of this
Article, he shall forthwith be taken in the counties of this
State before the nearest available Justice of the Peace or Trial
Magistrate, committing Magistrate or Police Justice of the
county in which the offense is committed, or if in Baltimore
City before the Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court, and
be entitled to an immediate hearing; and if such hearing can-
not then be had, he shall be released from custody on giving
bond or undertaking executed by a fidelity or surety company
authorized to give such bonds in this State, or by a person or
persons acceptable as security or securities by said Magistrate,
Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court, Trial Magistrate or
Police Justice, such bond or undertaking to be in amount de-
termined by the Magistrate not to exceed the maximum
amount prescribed as the fine for such offense, and to be con-
ditioned for his appearance at the time and place set for the
hearing of the charges preferred against him or on giving his
personal undertaking to appear as aforesaid secured by the
deposit of a sum determined by the Magistrate not to exceed
the maximum amount prescribed as the fine for such offense,
and in case such bond or undertaking shall not be given or de-
posit made as aforesaid, the provisions of law in reference
to bail in cases of misdemeanor shall apply.

261. PERSON ARRESTED HAS EIGHT TO DEMAND SUMMONS IN
FOLLOWING CASES. Provided, however, that if any person ar-
rested for the violation of any of the provisions of this Article
or of any public local law or of any municipal ordinance or
Police regulation of Baltimore City, or of any incorporated
town or city in Maryland regulating traffic, is a resident of the
State of Maryland a resident of a county or the City of Balti-
more, other than that in which the arrest is made, or is a resi-
dent of the County or the City of Baltimore in which the arrest
is made, such person shall have the. right to demand and re-
ceive and it shall be the duty of the officer or officers arresting
such person to inform him of his right to make such demand
