ducing a red light and shall be displayed upon the roadway
when and as required in this section.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
shall be subject to a fine of not less than One ($1. 00) Dollar
nor more than One Hundred ($100. 00) Dollars, or to im-
prisonment for not more than thirty days or by both fine and
'imprisonment.

241. VEHICLES TRANSPORTING EXPLOSIVES. Any person op-
erating any vehicle transporting any explosive as a cargo or
part of a cargo upon a highway shall at all times comply with
the provisions of this section.

(a) Said vehicle shall be marked or placarded on each side,
the front and the rear with the word "EXPLOSIVES" in let-
ters not less than 8 inches high and each stroke shall be not
less than one inch (1") in width.

(b) Every said vehicle shall be equipped with not less than
two fire extinguishers, filled and ready for immediate use, and
placed at a convenient point on the vehicle so used.

(e) The Department is hereby authorized and directed to
promulgate such additional regulations governing the trans-
portation of explosives and other dangerous articles by vehicles
upon the highways as it shall deem advisable for the protec-
tion of the public.

Violation of this section shall be deemed to be a misde-
meanor and upon conviction shall be punishable by a fine of
One ($1. 00) dollar to One Hundred ($100. 00) dollars, or to
imprisonment not to exceed one year or by both fine and im-
prisonment.

242. APPOINTMENT OF OFFICIAL INSPECTION STATIONS, (a)
The Department shall issue, at no expense to the State, per-
mits for and furnish instructions and all necessary forms
to official inspection stations for the inspection of brakes, light-
ing equipment, steering mechanism, horns, mirrors, windshield-
wipers, and other equipment of motor vehicles, trailers, and
semi-trailer.

(b) Application for permit shall be made upon an official
form and shall be granted only when the Department is satis-
fied that the station is properly equipped and has competent
personnel to make such inspections and will be properly con-
ducted.

(e) The Department shall supervise and may cause in-
spections to be made of such stations and shall revoke and re-
quire the surrender of the permit issued to a station which
