the application of a minor for a license shall suspend such
license and shall not reinstate such license until such time as
a new application duly signed and verified, is made as required
by this Article. This provision shall not apply in the event the
minor has attained the age of eighteen (18) years.

88. LICENSES ISSUED TO CHAUFFEURS. Every special chauf-
feur's license shall bear thereon a photograph of the licensee,
which shall be furnished by the licensee, and the Depart-
ment shall issue with every such chauffeur's license a chauf-
feur's badge with a plainly readable distinguishing number
assigned to the license stamped thereon and every chauffeur
shall display such chauffeur's badge in plain sight upon
the band of his cap or upon the lapel of his outer coat while
operating a motor vehicle as a public or common carrier of
persons. All such special chauffeurs. shall be governed by
the additional provisions contained in Section 84 of this
Article.

89. LICENSE TO BE SIGNED, CARRIED AND EXHIBITED ON DE-
MAND. Operating licenses shall at all times be carried by the
licensee when operating a motor vehicle upon the highways of
this State, and shall be subject to examination upon demand
by an uniformed officer of the law, and said licenses shall
have endorsed thereon in the proper handwriting of the li-
censee the name of the said licensee and when requested by
proper officer in the discharge of his duties under the law said
licensee, shall write his name in the presence of said officer to
the end that the identity of said licensee may be determined.
The maximum fine for violation of this section in the case of
a person to whom a license to operate a motor vehicle has been
duly issued, but who through inadvertence has not the same
with him at the time of arrest shall be one (f 1. 00) dollar.

90. RESTRICTED LICENSES, (a) The Department upon issu-
ing an operator's or chauffeur's license shall have author-
ity whenever good cause appears to impose restrictions suit-
able to the licensee's driving ability with respect to the type
of or special mechanical control devices required on motor
vehicles which the licensee may operate or such other restric-
tions applicable to the licensee as the Department may de-
termine to be appropriate to assure the safe operation of a
motor vehicle by the licensee.

(b) The Department may either issue a special restricted
license or may set forth such restrictions upon the usual
license form.
