provisions relating to privileged communications. Except as
otherwise provided in this sub-title or in rules adopted by the
Court the practice and procedure in the People's Court shall
conform to the practice and procedure provided for in civil
actions before Justices of the Peace. The Judges of said Court
shall have power to fix by rule both return days and trial days
as to any class or classes of cases, except cases arising under
the provisions of Sections 1 to 8, inclusive, of Article 53 of the
Code of Public General Laws (1939 Edition) and except cases
arising under Sections 750 to 757, inclusive, of the Baltimore
City Charter (1938 Edition), and shall not be bound by the
provisions of Sections 27, 28 and 32 of Article 52 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition).

716G. Subject to the provisions of Section 716H, before any
of the following acts or services shall be performed in connec-
tion with any action or proceeding in the People's Court, there
shall be paid to the Chief Constable of the People's Court for
the use of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City the
following fees and costs:
